What is FeastVan?
FeastVan is a two and a half week dining event established to introduce diners to the vast array of restaurants in East Vancouver. Local foodies and visitors to Vancouver will have the opportunity to enjoy a selection of specially priced three-course meals from some of East Vancouver's best restaurants during this dining event. $1 from each meal sold will be donated to the Strathcona Community Center, and will be used towards the Strathcona Community Center Back Pack Food Program, which provides back pack meals for both Strathcona Community Center and Raycam Community Center.
When is FeastVan?
FeastVan takes place over two and a half consecutive weeks between: January 18 and February 03, 2013
What is the cost?
Participating restaurants will present a specially priced two-course meal for lunch and/or three-course meal for dinner. Diners will be able to choose from at least two choices for each course including appetizer, entrée and dessert. These FeastVan menus will be viewable online at FeastVan.com. Prices and meal periods vary by restaurant and exclude beverages, tax and gratuity.
What restaurants are involved in FeastVan?
A wide variety of restaurants throughout East Vancouver are participating in FeastVan. Last years list of participating restaurants are available here.
How does a customer participate in FeastVan?
No passes, tickets or coupons are required. Diners may simply visit their favourite participating restaurants throughout the 17 days to enjoy the specially priced prix fixe menus. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged, but walk-ins are appreciated. There is no guarantee that walk-in guests will be accommodated. To make a lunch or dinner reservation, please contact the restaurant directly. Please note that some restaurants do not take reservations.
What’s the idea behind FeastVan?
FeastVan is a grassroots project started by Joe Chaput. It was created in 2012 with two goals in mind—driving business for our East Vancouver restaurant community; and to raise funds and build awareness for the Strathcona Community Center Back Pack Food Program, which provides meals for both Raycam and Strathcona community centers.
